Where do your patients go when looking for health-related information?
You may want the answer to be “my website” but “Dr. Google” is more likely the go-to source of information for patients, caregivers and health enthusiasts alike.
With the internet penetration rate increasing, the number of individuals searching the internet for health-related topics is steeply rising as well. According to a recent research study, 80 percent of Internet users have searched for a health-related query online.
Here’s the catch though. Not all internet searches are yielding reliable information. There is a whole lot of misinformation out there that makes the internet a double-edged sword for physicians and patients alike.
